Powerlifting trial selection on Dec 18

Imphal, Dec 14: A trial selection for the State power-lifting team for the Junior and Master National Powerlifting Championship 2018 will be held on Dec 18 at Chingmei-rong Community Hall.
The National Championship is scheduled to be held from January 8 to 12 in Coimbatore under the aegis of the Indian Powerlifting Federation. The trial selection, which will be held between 8 to 10am after weight measurement on the above mentioned date, is organised by the Manipur Powerlifting Association (MPA). Interested powerlifters should bring their date-of-birth certificates and Aadhar cards and get more information from the MPA office.

What was conveyed to RN Ravi ? Classified FA, classified meeting

What were the suggestions and the measures put forward by the five intellectuals of the State when they met Centre’s Interlocutor to the Naga peace talk, RN Ravi during their meeting at New Delhi on December 13 ? Tough to say, for the suggestions, per se, have not been spelt out in details to the media and one understands why. Given the sensitivity of the issue here, it will be tough to disclose the finer details of what were discussed during the two hour meeting at New Delhi and again remember, save for one, who has stepped into politics, none of the others are involved in politics.

Hope the peace agreement brings peace not war

First, the Framework Agreement. Now a new term called Peace Agreement apart from Peace Accord/Final Accord. Beautifully crafted, of course. The details of the Framework Agreement are not disclosed to the public and when the public asked why, it has been cleverly blended as an agreement with NSCN(IM) and Centre as not a full-fledged palpable and conclusive agreement but a Framework for ‘Framework’ refers to an outline or structure. Nice word which is exactly suitable to culminate into an excuse for not making the contents of the agreement public.

Imphal sees highest rainfall this year since 1956

Imphal, Dec 14 : Manipur capital Imphal received the highest rainfall since 1956, recording 2,439.4mm in 2017 till December 13 or 68.71% above the State’s annual precipitation of 1446.3mm, the Indian Council of Agricultural Research’s (ICAR) Imphal centre has said.

Road full of potholes, people pin hope on CM for remedial works

IMPHAL, Dec 14:Just a few kilometers from the city, an 18 kilometer stretch on the National Highway 150, Moirang Lamkhai to Churachandpur is filled with potholes as big as 3 feet in width and 6 to 7 feet in length.
