Call centre is a common word for many of us as young people in metros have experiences of working in various call centres. Now, we need to know what is this all about and how one can be involved with this. All of us use mobile phone and many times we call up the call centre whenever we have any issue with the network or the charges or any other offers. This means we have been using the services provided by call centre. Well, a call centre or call center is a centralised office used for receiving or transmitting a large volume of requests by telephone. There may be other definition too but it is easy to understand.

Women reservation vs Naga customary law: Dialectical approach

Nagaland for the first time is debating on the subject of Article 371A of the Constitution since the history of its formation on 1st December, 1963. The debate is crucial. Not because “33% women reservation” in the Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) transgresses Naga customary law, but because it evokes a serious constitutional question as to the sanctity of Naga customary law vis-a-vis inviolability of Article 371A.

What does it mean, to undertake a journey of Self-discovery? Should one do it only if there is a benefit and should one do something only for benefit? It is like someone asking, “Why should I be a good person?” The question arises because he feels it is pointless to be good person as there are no benefits. Life is seen as a series of problems that have to be resolved. The common perception is that one needs to be street smart, manipulative, competitive and ambitious to be able to overcome challenges.

Let the credit go to someone else

God can make tremendous use of one who does not care to whom the credit goes, writes Pastor Robert H Schuller in his book on ‘Positive Attitudes’. That does not sound familiar, does it? After all, most of us are inspired to work harder when we are given full credit for what we have done and reap the rewards inherent in self-effort.
There is however, a deeper principle at work here. We are linked to others and in fact to the whole universe which makes our self-effort part of a grander scheme of things. This deeper principle reminds us that humility requires us to downplay our achievements and to view our successes as stepping stones to the happiness of others.

My torn shirt will cost millions in auction one day

If people tease you just because you wear torn dresses, never feel down for that, just walk up and tell them, “One day, this torn shirt and pant will cost millions of dollars in auction.” That is the best way to shut the mouth of those cheap surroundings.

Women’s reservation to correct some of the traditional/ customary

Many will argue and have already argued that there is no restriction for women if she wants to contest election – be it local polls, state or general election. There have also been numerous arguments and remarks – why should women need reservation? Who stop (ed) them to contest election? Indeed, there is no written law that says women are not permitted or not allowed to contest election.

Generate jobs with greater public investment

In an unusual and rare admission, the NDA government stated during question hour in the Rajya Sabha that the rate of unemployment has steadily risen in the country, especially among the other backward classes. The data is from Labour Bureau’s annual survey of employment and unemployment that was conducted between April-December 2015. This showed an overall rate of 5% on a usual principal status basis — that refers to people looking for work for a longer part of the year — while it was 5.2% for OBCs in 2015 according to the union minister of state for planning Rao Inderjit Singh.

Keep thy heart with all diligence

“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life (Proverbs 4:23).”
The Vitality of The Heart : The issues of life are aplenty. Of foremost importance is that one’s heart-beat has to keep beating so that one stays alive. Once it stops, one ceases to exist as a human being, and is remembered as a ‘human-been.’ Other issues of life like bids to get status, food, clothing and shelter will run helter-skelter once the heart fails to play its role in the human body as the center of blood-circulation system.
