Manipur, IMPHAL, February 4: The All India Students’ Federation, Manipur State Council today organized a reception ceremony of National Bravery Awardee Koroungamba Khuman at the Irawat Bhawan head office today.

The National Bravery Awardee was accompanied by his parents, Babuchand and Khuman (o) Sofia.

Koroungamba Khuman happens to be the youngest among the 22 National Bravery Awardees for this year.

A visibly excited Koroungamba while expressing his happiness over receiving the award said he had saved his younger sister from a fire which had broken out while they were sleeping.

He had used a blanket to wrap around his sister to save her from the fire. The seven year old  said that during the ordeal, he remembered a scene of the cartoon Tom and Jerry, when Tom had used a blanket to douse a fire.

The National Bravery Award includes a certificate, cash aad toys.

He continued he had met the Prime Minister, President, Vice President, Defence Minister during his New Delhi trip and had also visited several places including the National Science Centre.
