IMPHAL, Feb 22: 8 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector under HQ IGAR(South) organised 63rd Zoumi Nammi Celebration at Sajik Tampak on 20th Feb 2011.
According to a release of PRO, IGAR (South) Imphal, the function was attended by more than 500 local people from the Sajik Valley. Vibrant Cultural Programmes and community meals were the main attractions of the celebrations. Commandant 8 Assam Rifles, P Thangkholun , MLA of Chandel Haokip alongwith other civil officials attended the function. Commandant 8 Assam Rifles congratulated the Zomi Community for the celebrations and motivated the people to work together for the peace and prosperity of the area. He stressed upon the necessity of close cooperation between the locals and Assam Rifles for progress of complete area.8 Assam Rifles provided all administrative support for the conduct of the event the release added.
