Dr Chaltonlien Amo was today elected as the Chairman of the Hill Areas Committee. Dr Amo was the only candidate who filed for the post. T N Haokip who conducted the election at the state Assembly complex declared Dr Amo as the new chairman of the Committee.
Chief Minister O Ibobi, Speaker, Th Lokeshore and MLAs who were present in the election congratulated the new chairman of the hill areas committee. Mr. Ibobi said the post of Chairman of HAC is important as all decisions related to hill areas will be taken by consulting him. Dr Amo is a Congress MLA from Tipaimukh AC.
