Imphal, Apr 14: As part of a drive to bridge the gap between local populace with the Security Forces, 5 Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarter 59 Mountain Brigade and Red Shield Div has been undertaking various welfare projects under Military Civic Action programme “OP SADBHAVANA”. On 13 Apr 2012, 01 Nos Solar Street light system and 01 Nos Solar Home light system was formally handed over by Sub R S Negi of 5 Assam Rifles to Mao village of Senapati District. The aim of the project was to provide lights to students and villagers of the remote area.
The procurement of Solar Lights will solve the problem of light scarcity of the villagers and students.
5 Assam Rifles under the aegis of Senapati Brigade and Red Shield Division has been undertaking various welfare projects under Military Civic Action programme Fund. On 13th Apr 2012, Sports Equipments was formally handed over to Pudunamei village. During the function it was reiterated that the Red Shield Div is always approachable for any assistance required in developmental projects and thereby building a harmonious relation with the local populace. The MCA project is aimed to impart knowledge of the information and technology to the Orphans as well as people of the remote area.
