IMPHAL, April 30: One person was killed while two others injured after the Chevrolet Beat car they were travelling in fell down a deep gorge at Kesinam village under Saparmeina PS along the NH 53.

The car was coming towards Imphal from Noney when the tragic accident happened this afternoon at 2pm.

The dead victim has been identified as Kadilui Panmei, 67 of Thangmeiband Namthanlong, while the two injured have been identified as Titus Riyamei, 40 Khoipum and at present staying at Chingmeirong Khongnang ani karak and RK Toni, 42 of Uripok Cheirap.

The two are stated to be undergoing treatment at RIMS.

Meanwhile, some 40/50 people who were perched on a suspension bridge over the Imphal river, watching locals fishing in the river fell down when a wire of the bridge collapse this evening around 5:30pm.

The bridge built across the Imphal river connects Chirai village with Irang Cheishaba under Mayang Imphal PS.
