Expressing unhappiness over the inability to keep fixed time of a function, the Home Minister Gaikhangam appealed all to keep time. He was speaking at a felicitation function of MLAs and representatives of IMC organized by Kakhulong Pei Kakhulong women’s society and Kakhulong Youth Committee at Kakhulong Khul, Paona Bazar today. In the felicitation function, Shri Gaikhangam, RK Imo, MLA, Sagolband, Z. Kikhanbou Newmai, MLA Tamei, Janghemlung Panmei, Councilor of ward No 24, Smt Karangchonglu Gangmei and member Rajen Gangmei attended the function.
The people of Kakhulong submitted a memorandum to Home Minister and MLAs urging them to construct a multipurpose hall for the Khul and to extend compensation for standing properties of the evicted land.
Gaikhangam said, there is no habit of keeping the habit of attending a function in time and it should be reformed. We should try to utilize our resources properly and we should also give up the habit of begging from others. Kakhulong Khul may be developed as a commercial complex and it will provide benefit to the people of Manipur. MLAs should not have the idea of only developing their own Kendras and they should take part in the development works of the state.
An MLA should have national outlook and an MP should also have international outlook. RK Imo, MLA assured to construct the multipurpose hall and he also asked to the gathering to extend co-operation in the development works. Gaikhangam expressed his desire to develop a commercial complex at Kakhulong village by establishing a shopping mall which in turn yield benefits to the village and the state as well.
Calling Kakhulong a mini India, MLA RK Imo, who was also speaking at the felicitation programme jointly organised by Kakhulong Pei, Kakhulong Women’s Society and Kakhulong Youth Committee, assured to make efforts to build up a multi-purpose community hall at the Kabui tribe dominated village.
