In another incident security forces under the Red Shield Division apprehended two KLA Cadres today. The two were identified as Thang Khongam Haokip and Sontinpao Haokip . They were involved in extortion activities from government officials PIB(Defence Wing) informed. They confessed that Stephan Thouthang @ Khaikam, C-in-C of Kuki Liberation Army (KLA) is the master mind of extortion activities in the region. They were handed over to Imphal West PS.
A cadre of UPPK was nabbed by troops yesterday in the border town of Moreh. Assam Rifles officials said troops of 9 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector under HQ IGAR (South) launched an operation at ward no 5 at Moreh and apprehended one UPPK cadre . The man was identified as No 99 SS Pvt, Pebam Arun Mangang . One 9mm pistol with magazine and five live rounds
