Imphal, Sep 15 : Federation of All Tribal Youth Clubs Manipur (FATYCM) and All Tribal Disables’ Union Manipur (ATDUM) submitted a memorandum to M. Oken , Education Minister today demanding to issue TET forms in district headquarters make it downloadable in website and open exam centre at all district headquarters. R Asing, President FATYCM, Momo Tantanga, President ATDUM said Manipur is inhabited by tribaIs/groups of different communities and development activities are concentrated only in the valley . They alleged that tribals have been systematically exploited for ages, since the past 60 years after India’s Independence. The various tribal Organizations have voiced their problems and grievances from time to time and yet the state government has not given any serious attention. Any important examination ends up in Imphal.
Patience is running out and if this state of affairs continues, law and order problem can crop up it was stated. How long can the tribals of Manipur tolerate, such kind of step-motherly treatment it was asked.
They demanded that the forms should be available in all district, internet, extend date for form submission and open exam center in all hill districts .
The aspiring candidates of TET are facing multi-problems in getting TET forms in the state capital Imphal as they have to spend days together and thousands of rupees.
Federation of All Tribal Youth Clubs Manipur (FATYCM) and All Tribal Disables’ Union Manipur (ATDUM expressed strong dissatisfaction with the attitude of the state Government and concerned department for failing to open TET examinations qentre at district headquarters despite their assurance last year. It is said that the issuance of forms at only one centre in Imphal has caused a lot of inconvenience for aspiring candidates from other district of the state as they have to spend three-four days in collecting the form.
If and no corrective measure is taken within September 20, agitations under the ambit of democratic will be taken up in the Hill districts of Manipur.
