IMPHAL, June 26: 28 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR South conducted a health seminar at Kakching today. The seminar was organized under theme ‘avoid the scare be aware’ wherein the Assam Rifles and other Government and Non Government agencies of the state joined hands to spread knowledge against the menace of HIV/AIDS, said a PRO release.
Various eminent speakers including prominent doctors expressed their views covering a wide spectrum on related issues with particular, the current topics like Changing Scenario of AIDS, Stigma and Discrimination, the nexus of Drugs, HIV and AIDS, Role and Challenges of Media and Alternative Cure from AYUSH being emphasised upon, the release further said.
The seminar was inaugurated by Maj Gen Rajeev Chopra, IGAR(S) and was attended by various civil dignitaries including Dr Pramod Kumar Singh, Dr S Gojendra Singh, Dr Seram Meena Devi, Dr Y Gopalkrishna and Satyajit Usham, editor of Hueiyen Lanpao, it said while adding that a large number of students from various colleges of Thoubal and Chandel District also attended the same.
