IMPHAL, September 26: A meeting was convened at the Sabungkhok Lailampak community hall, 10 am today in connection with the bomb blast that inflicted injury to two civilians.

The explosion taken place along the Nation Highway-150 Imphal-Ukhrul stretch in between Sabungkhok and Yaingangpokpi near Murei Village Lamkhai Yaingangpokpi police station.

Aftermath of the blast five individuals were also arrested by the AR personnel.

The meeting chaired by Heikrujam Tombi Singh of Sabungkhok Khunjao, was attended by villagers residing in between Sabungkhok Khunou to Gwaltabi.

The gathering unanimously resolved to seek clarification from the perpetrators who planted the IED behind the attack.

Appealing all the concerned to prevent similar incident in the future in populated area, it said the innocence civilians are always at the receiving end.

Moreover, it further resolved to sent a representation to the Union Home Minister apprising the plight of the people who often falls victim of such attack.

Further, the gathering also formed a Joint Action Committee comprising of villages from Leimakhong Mapal to Gwaltabi Manasabi.

The JAC is made up of 13 members with Chingakham Ibepishak Devi as the convenor and Laishram Mema Devi as the co-convenor.

Meanwhile, the arrested individuals were reportedly released by the AR personnel late last night.
