IMPHAL, January 9: The Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee President, Gaikhangam has condoled deeply the sudden demise of former and 1st Chief Justice at the Gawahati High Court, RK. Manisana, 82 of Sega Road Leimajam Leikai on December 9.

According to a release of the committee, the death of RK. Manisana is a great lost for Manipur as he was dedicated in working hard for the development of the state. The committee also shared in the grief of the family members and prayed for the departed soul for its heavenly abode, it said.

Meanwhile members of the Manipuri Benevolent Society (MBS), Silchar in collaboration with All Assam Manipuri Students`™ Union (AAMSU) has offered heartfelt condolence on the death of the former Chief Justice of Guwahati High Court, RK Manisana at a function held at Manipuri Boys Hostel near SP Office today.

President of MBS and former Principal of Gurucharan College, Okram Churamoni Singh offered his heartfelt condolence and added that the former Chief Justice who had visited Manipuri Boys Hostel was not only a good justice but also a society lover. RK. Manisana had passed away on January 9 at Shija Hospital. He also served at various other organisations which included Chairman of the Assam Human Rights Commission and was also the Chairman of the NSA.

He also served as the chairman of the two wage board namely working journalists and non-journalist news paper and news agency employees, said the President of MBS.

Various members of both the organisation such as RK Gopalsana, Konsam Gulapi Singh, Secretary of MBS, IS Thingom Singh and President of AAMSU, Seram Herajit Singh offered their condolences to the departed soul. The members also observed a 1 minute silence for peace of the departed soul.
