IMPHAL, Jul 20: Union Minister Maneka Sanjay Gandhi has extended aid to People for Animals Manipur as relief for flood-affected animals of the State. People for Animals Manipur is involving in rescuing and rehabilitating animals distressed by the present flood since the calamity struck, according to a release.
The organization shared information about the flood to Maneka Sanjay Gandhi who is also its national Chairperson. As a result, the Union Minister extended some help to provide relief to the animals. A relief programme for animals named as “The Silver Lining” have been started. Fresh fodder for cattle and feeds for domestic birds were distributed at Lilong. The programme would be continued at various affected places.
It may be recalled that Maneka Sanjay Gandhi had sent medicines to Manipur for animals during the flood of 2015.
