JTSU appeals students to abstain class

To protest over the alleged assault to the president of students’ union, Ananda Singh Higher Secondary Academy, Joint Tribal Students’ Union, Imphal has appealed to all tribal students to abstain from attending their respective classes from July 28.

Lensonthang Haokip, president, JTSU-I said that Mini Baite, president, Students’ Union Ananda Singh Higher Secondary Academy was assaulted by some students near the school toilet with no clear reason.

He continued that the student body demanded the school authority to resolve the matter by bringing an understanding within three days on July 24. The student body also served an ultimatum that the school authority that if the matter is not resolved within the stipulated time the tribal students will abstain from their respective class until it is resolved amicably.

“Therefore, we asked all the tribal students to stay away from their respective classes from tomorrow as the school authority has failed to resolve the matter”, said Haokip.
