He pleaded “Pigs should also be protected under a strict legislation. Pork and beef are equally consumed by Indians but it is a discriminatory act of the government to only consider about the safety of etao cow. Jiribam, Aug 5: NMK Ningthembam enjoyed a conclusive win over SAYC (B) Sorok Atingbi with a margin of 26-8 in the 16th E Tilotama Memorial Mixed Kang at the Kalimai Mandap today.
SAYC (B) won the toss and got the chance to select the side but NMK Ningthem-bam gain the upper hand in no time and won the match.
Tomorrow’s match – which will be 12th of the tournament organised by the All Jiribam Sport Association (AJSA), Jiribam – will feature LEC (B) Babupara and SAYC (C) Sorok Atingbi at the same venue.

Unidentified persons triggered a powerful bomb blast reportedly at the gate of Yambem Shyamo, Pradhan of Lourembam GP, located at Nongpok Lourembam Mamang Leikai in Thoubal district tonight at around 7.45.
No casualty has been reported though. However, a car and a tractor parked at the gate were reportedly damaged.
A source said that the Pradhan has received no demand from any organisations earlier. Police registered a case in this connection.

IMPHAL, Aug 5 : The Socialist Students’ Union of Manipur (SSUM) kick-started the 1st Imphal Trade Show 2017, a 14 day trade fair, at Hapta Kangjeibung, Palace Compound from July 28. Speaking to The Sangai Express, Naorem Tanuranjan, information and publicity secretary of SSUM, stated that the trade show has been organised with the main aim of showcasing the different cultural and traditional products from every part of the State as well as some parts of the world.
It has also been organised as a way to provide a platform to market the indigenous products of Manipur, he added. He pointed out that the proceeds from the trade show will go to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to help the recent flood victims.

IMPHAL, Aug 5 : World Breastfeeding Week celebration being organised by Breastfeeding Promotion Alliance of Manipur (BPAM) under the theme “Sustainable Breastfeeding Together” began today at GP Women’s College. The inaugural function was graced by Education Minister Th Radheshyam as chief guest, principal of the college Dr B Lalhari as president and advisor of BPAM Dr Ksh Chourjit as guest of honour. Speaking at the function, Minister Radheshyam maintained that breast milk provides the ideal nutrition for infants as it has a nearly perfect mix of vitamins, protein, and fat everything your baby needs to grow.
He said that breast milk contains antibodies that help a baby fight off viruses and bacteria.
