IMPHAL, Nov 29: A free training programme on mushroom cultivation was organised by Rama Foundation, Nagamapal at Chothe VDF Camp, Bishnupur on November 26. Attending as resource person, Regional Achiever awardee Soram Rajendra Kumar spoke on scientific methods of mushroom cultivation, cooking, diseases, poisonous mushrooms, marketing and financial assistance, how to create manure from the wastages etc.
A field visit was conducted as part of the training programme which was organised with the objective of providing the trainees a means of income generation and becoming self-employed through mushroom cultivation.

IMPHAL, Nov 29: A one day State level workshop on ‘North Eastern District Resources Plan (NEDRP)’ was jointly organised by the North Eastern Space Applications Centre (NESAC), Umiam, Meghalaya and Manipur Remote Sensing Applications Centre (MARSAC) today at State Guest House, Sanjenthong.
The objective of the workshop was to deliver the usage of the NEDRP geoportal which was developed by NESAC to provide geospatial data, services and tools for preparation of DPR, Master Plan documents and other inputs essential for various district level developmental planning activities.
The workshop was inaugurated with keynote address by Dr N Randhir Singh, Director, MARSAC followed by a technical presentation by Victor Saikhom, Scientist-SE, NESAC. A scientist from MARSAC gave demonstration on the uses of NEDRP geoportal.
More than 110 participants from various departments, district administration etc took part in the workshop.

MHF extends financial assistance

IMPHAL, Nov 29: Continuing with providing financial assistance to heart patients of the State, founder of Manipur Heart Foundation (MHF), Dr L Shyamkishore donated a sum of Rs 10, 000 to H Tombi Devi of Toubul, Bishnupur district on November 7 for the treatment expense of her 6 years old son’s heart problem.
According to a press release from MHF, Tombi Devi expressed her happiness and gratitude to the foundation for the financial help.
Dr Shyamkishore stated that the foundation will continue to provide financial assistance to the people belonging to BPL family and economically weaker section admitted in Government or Government recognised private hospitals for medical, device or operative treatment of various heart diseases.
The release said generous donation from philanthropists and people of the State to the foundation is welcome to help those heart patients who are in need of financial assistance for various treatments.
For such assistance, heart patients or parents have to apply along with relevant documents to the office of MHF president near SKY Hospital, Imphal West, it added.

The selection process will be consisting of two levels.
Level 1(Philately Quiz competition) to be held on December 20 at Divisional Office, lmphal at 11 am and Level 2 (Philately Project).
