IMPHAL, Jan 12 : Chief Minister N Biren Singh today inaugurated a branch of the State Bank of India at Tamei sub-division in Tamenglong district as well as a police station. Tamei AC MLA Awangbou Newmai who was also present took note of the role of the Army and thanked GOC Spear Corps, Lt General Anil Chauhan for pursuing the case of a bank and police station at Tamei, said PIB Defence Wing in a statement.
The Chief Minister also lauded the role of the Army and Assam Rifles in maintaining peace and harmony in the State. Troops of Red Shield Division staged a Bhangra dance for the visiting dignitaries.
