It is not an exaggeration to appreciate the fact that Regional Institute of Medical Sciences provides satisfaction to the maximum number of sick persons who are in need of the indoor services of its hospital for the treatment of their diseases. In the course of its services for the last more than 40 (forty) years, several schemes and policies as regards the treatments, diagnosis and investigations were brought from time to time by both the RIMS administration and the RIMS hospital administration. People always think that any sick person who has been treated in the RIMS is relieved of his disease or his health problem and thus the impression of the general public is that it is the business of the hospital authorities to look to every aspect of the sick person’s need. It is true that the task of diagnosis and treatment of a disease has to be done in a hospital.

State wrestlers bag 13 medals

IMPHAL, Jan 15 : The U-19 boys and girls team representing Manipur in the 63rd National School Games Belt Wrestling Championship have so far bagged 13 medals including 7 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze medals.
The championship is currently underway at Hyderabad under the aegis of School Games Federation of India.
Manipur’s S Santosh (40 kg), O Johnson (45 kg), W Ajay (60 kg), M Romeshchandra (65 kg), S Abesana (45 kg), Ng Haripriya (50 kg) and L Nganthoi Devi (55 kg) bagged one gold medal each for Manipur while N Rakesh (55 kg), L Thomas (70 kg), Kh Geetanjali (40 kg) and Th Martina (55 kg) finished second to clinch silver medals.
Th Surjit (50 kg) and N Amar (70 kg) were able to claimed bronze medals for the State.
The State team are lead by L Manao as manager while Ch Premananda and E Romila Devi are leading the team as coaches (boys and girl)

Foundation day held

Thoubal: The foundation day of Leimapokpam Muhindro High School, Thoubal Athokpam was held.
MLA of Khangabok AC, Okram Surjakumar, Thoubal Municipal Council ward no 6 Councillor Kh Bishorjit and Thoubal College Principal Okram Chaoba Devi attended the event as dignitaries.
Floral tributes were paid to the late founders of the school by the dignitaries.
Meanwhile, the New Public Higher Secondary School in Khangabok also celebrated its 20th foundation day at its school campus in which Charangpat Zilla Parishad member P Heramani, Khangabok Zilla Parishad member Kh Rajmohon, Sangaiyumpham Zilla Parishad member Md Hibjur Rahaman, New Public Higher Secondary School Chairman M Rameshwor were present as dignitaries among others.
Later, an award distribution ceremony for the students of the school who excelled in their respective classes, achieved national level awards and scored highest marks in the HSLC examination was also held.

Meeting on wildlife protection

Kakching: A meeting on protection of wildlife and migratory birds at Khoidumpat and its surrounding areas was held today, in which Range Forest Officer, Kakching N Munal Meitei and Honorary District Wildlife Warden, Thoubal W Ramachandra, Hiyanglam Gram Panchayat members and local clubs attended.
The meeting was held at Hiyanglam Gram Panchayat Pradhan Shanti Devi, reports our correspondent.
The meeting decided to follow the rule and regulations set for wild life and migratory birds and further resolved to extend maximum support to Forest Department to safeguard them properly.
During the meeting, DFO/Thoubal Divisional Forest Officer, Thoubal RK Amarjit expressed the desire to turn Khoidumpat into a community reserve.
Range Forest Officer, Kakching N Munal Meitei urged all the people to safeguard Khoidumpat and Pumlenpat with a view to promote eco-tourism in the State.
