In Mizoram, Schools such as St. Pauls’s and Govt higher secondary school would be covered  from 13th – 15th October, 2014.on 15th  October the venue for the festival is Vannapa Hall, wherein we have invited students from various schools.

The festival in Nagaland has been made possible due to the help of our local coordinator Miss Maggie. L.Ralte, from the Helen’o’Grady.

Shravan Kumar, CEO of CFSI believes in the motto” A child’s right to entertainment”. He says “Although similar festivals are a regular feature in the rest of the country, the children in north east have been deprived a lot. We are happy to say that we have succeeded to a large extent in translating our motto into reality. Our organization is trying to reach out to the children in the country in various ways. It has been our constant endeavor to make children appreciate the aesthetics of cinema as an art.”

We are extremely keen on making the programme successful for the children of Mizoram. Our team will be conducting review writing competition across all states. By the end of the project we will be publishing a book for children about Cinema and its history where the best write ups will be published. The movie screening will also be followed by the quiz and storyboard competition. We believe this unique programme will help the youth in Mizoram to develop an eye to view films critically.

Children’s Film Society of India (CFSI), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India promotes films that provide healthy and wholesome entertainment for children to broaden their perspective and encourage them to reflect on the world around.

Cinedarbaar Welfare Society is an independent organization based in Delhi, which works in the field of arts, culture and education. We believe in creating a knowledge base at the grassroots level. Since the inception of Cinedarbaar, the basic idea remains to foster the cinephilia culture by providing them with platforms like these festivals to learn explore and revitalize the zeal of the movie buffs. Our efforts have always been to conduct an interactive session after every film screening encouraging the exchange of views and ideas thus creating a dialogue.

The Festival began with a Press Conference in Guwahati on 30th August, 2014 addressed by ‘Ms. Supriya Suri’ president of Cinedarbaar followed by a tremendous response for the festival in Arunachal Pradesh.
