IMPHAL, December 19: Chief Minister Shri O. Ibobi Singh today visited Shri Shri Govindajee Janmasthan, Kaina in connection with the development of the complex as a tourist destination.

Speaking to the people at the complex the Chief Minister said that the complex is to be developed as a tourist destination under the fund released from the Tourism Ministry of Government of India. Assuring that all the constructions and development works will be done transparently, he added that the constructions of compound fencing, main gate and parking lot shall be taken up first and other components like tourist lodge, cafeteria, public utility facilities, solar lighting etc. are to be done later. Chief Minister also expressed the need for good planning before commencing the development works for which he appealed for extending suggestions and cooperation from experts and all concerned.

The Chief Minister was accompanied by MLA Andro A/C Th Shyamkumar, former chief engineer, PWD E Binoy Singh, Aribam Shyam Sharma, Ratan Thiyam, Dr Kh Loken ex-MLA, commissioner Art & Culture Dr RK Nimai, Y Ningthem, project director MDS, Mangi Singh, former chief architect and director Art & Culture K Sobita Devi among others.

IMPHAL, December 19: State Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh who also holds the Finance portfolio has tabled the Macro Econoic Framework statement before the House during the second and last day of the 6th Session of the 10th Manipur Legislative Assembly, today.

The statements tabled by the leader of the House are Medium Term Fiscal Policy Statement, Fiscal Policy Strategy Statement, Macro Economic Framework Statement and Disclosures.

The statements were tabled under the Manipur Fiscal Responsibility and Budget management Rules, 2005 by the leader of the House.

IMPHAL, Dec 19: Repairing and testing activities of LED based traffic signals in and around Imphal city is going on. Till the testing activities is completed traffic signals will not be fully operational, and the public are requested to bear the inconvenience, said a press release of the deputy secretary (Transport), S Naba Singh.

IMPHAL, Dec 19: The deputy secretary (Transport) has said in a press release that it has come to the knowledge of the transport department that rumours are goind rounds that the department has issued/going to issue fresh appointment orders of different posts.

It has further added that that it is not true, and that for the present there is not any process for recruitment of staff in the department and not to believe in such rumours.
