MOBC health scheme application rescheduled

IMPHAL, June 25: The Directorate of Minorities and Other backward Classes has further notified that the prescribed application format for admission of application form for Health Scheme had been rescheduled

IMPHAL, June 25: The Directorate of Minorities and Other backward Classes has further notified that the prescribed application format for admission of application form for Health Scheme had been rescheduled for July 10, 2013-14 and submission is July 15.

The prescribed formats are obtainable from the Directorate for Rs. 10/- per format and interested persons belonging to religious Minority, OBC and SC community settled in the valley districts of Manipur and whose family income is below Rs. 22,000/- per annum who had been admitted and treated in a Government Hospital may apply for availing financial assistance under the scheme as approved by Work Advisory Board vide its meeting held on September 2, 2013 for the year 2013-14 said the director of MOBC, Manipur in a press release.

IMPHAL, June 25: A Two-wheeler borne man was crushed to death by a speeding truck at Umathel under Sugnu Police Station, Thoubal district this evening. A speeding truck struck the Activa which had two pillion riders and a driver. According to sources, the Activa was coming towards Kakching. The rear tyres of the truck crushed one of the Activa borne youth killing him on the spot. The victim has been identified as 35 year old Sapam Rajkumar son of Nabakumar of Sugnu Mayai Leikai. The other two Activa borne persons were also admitted at the hospital. Police have seized the truck and lodged a case.

IMPHAL, June 25: The Kuki Khanglai Lompi (KKL) observed its 25th year of existence and silver jubilee at Songgel Village Community Hall, Lamka today at 11 am. The function was attended as chief guest by Saikot a/c MLA TN Haokip and, while chairman ADC Ccpur, Langkhanpau Guite attended as functional president and the lone female MDC of Tamenglong Hatling as the guest of honour. Speaking at the function, Langkhanpau Guite said he is an admirer of the KKL. He said he is ready to offer any kind of help to KKL in his capacity. TN Haokip said should consider the silver jubilee celebration as not its end but as a new beginning and thrive to continue the good work. KKL has six blocks and a zone in Jiribam. He said the KKL was a philanthropic organisation based on the Young Mizo Association, Mizoram. The chief guest also appreciated the performances of the different cultural troops during the day’s program Today’s program was attended by representatives from different community leaders of Lamka like the Zomi Youth Organisation, Meitei Society and YMA.
