It may be noted that during the 2012 London Olympics, EMA played a crucial role in encouraging and supporting the Olympians from North East Indian states in general and Manipur, in particular. At the end of the Olympic Games on 11th August, EMA hosted two popular Manipuri Olympians, boxers Mary Kom and Laishram Devendro, and provided a platform to interact with their diaspora fans from the North Eastern region of India living in and around London. The event is still fondly remembered among the diaspora community in London.
