IMPHAL, Jun 28: Medical team of 2 AR of 9 Sector AR under aegis of HQ IGAR (S) saved the life of two snake bite victims on June 26, according to a statement issued by the PRO of IGAR (S). A boy named Th Thoungamba (7) of Athokpam Khunou, Thoubal district was bitten by a snake while playing and another victim named Y Suranjoy Singh (35) of Haokha was bitten by a snake while farming. Both were immediately rushed to the unit hospital of 2 AR. The victims were readily attended by the medical team and first aid was administered. Later the victims were referred to District Hospital, Thoubal.

According to a statement issued by the PRO of IGAR (S), 106 children and 30 elders availed the benefits. Medical officer of the unit sensitised locals on significance of hygiene and preventive measures against diseases prevalent during monsoon. Refreshments were also served to locals keeping in mind the long distances travelled by them.

IMPHAL, Jun 20: 11 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) organized the inauguration ceremony on provision of solar powered electrification at B Bongjang village at Moreh under Assam Rifles Civic Action Project for the financial year 2016-17 on June 14. IMPHAL, May 25 : Based on specific intelligence regarding drugs peddling on NH-102, troops of 12 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) conducted frisking and checking at Khudengthabi check post, Tengnoupal district on May 22. During the operation, about 1.219 kg of heroin was found in plastic bottles concealed inside a specially modified compartment in a fuel tank.
