IMPHAL, Jan 3: In yet another immediate assistance extended to locals in emergency situation, 17 Assam Rifles of 10 Sector Assam Rifles provided critical medical aid to two locals whose vehicles moving from Ukhrul to Imphal lost control and met with an accident.
According to a press release from PRO IGAR (S), the accident took place near Lambi village today at around 2 pm. The injured individuals were rescued by locals and were brought to the unit hospital at Shangshak where they were given necessary first aid by the Regimental Medical Officer.
The locals belonging to Ukhrul district were later evacuated to Imphal for further treatment, it said.

IMPHAL, Dec 1: 29 Assam Rifles of 28 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) yet again served as last resort in remote area of Joupi wherein units MI Room saved three precious lives.
According to a press release of PRO IGAR (S), a JCB carrying three men toppled near Joupi village, Chandel district on November 29 grievously injuring Romio (23) of Kakching, Bhagat (23) of Kakching and Edison (21) of Ethai.
The unit provided immediate assistance in rescuing the individuals from the toppled vehicle. They were immediately rushed to unit MI Room, it said. The unit’s medical team sensing the urgency, sprung into action and provided life saving treatment to the individuals in crucial initial hours of injury, the release added.

According to a press release of PIB Defence, the victim was immediately rushed to the Unit Hospital wherein the Medical officer of Noney Battalion treated the patient. Churachandpur: 25 Assam Rifles last night saved a 27 year old snake-bite victim from S Geltui village under Singngat sub-division after he was taken to the unit hospital located at headquarters Veng on the recommendation of the SP Churachandpur.
John Paukhanlun s/o Lianzamang was reportedly bitten by a snake yesterday at the village. As his family sought to save his life they approached the local authorities for assistance. They were referred to the Assam Rifles. Sources in the forces said, he was administered anti venom serum by the AR Doctor, Captain Ravindra Kumar and his associates upon their arrival at the unit hospital around 11pm, and thus managed to save his life.

IMPHAL, Jul 30: The areas of Thoubal, Sangaiyumpham, Khangabok and adjoining areas had witnessed incessant rains and water logging in a number of places in recent past. Taking note of growing concerns of locals for water borne diseases and the need to provide medical assistance to affected locals, 2 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) conducted a free medical camp at Thoubal Ground, Thoubal district with the active cooperation and assistance of Friends Club, Thoubal today.
According to a statement issued by the PRO of IGAR (S), a medical team comprising of seven doctors and 13 medical staff provided medical aid to 450 people including men, women, children and elderly. Medical facilities provided at Camp included Surgical, ENT, Eye Specialist as well as a Gynecologist to address the medical needs of women folk.

IMPHAL, Jul 25:A winger heading from Imphal to Chassad met with a grave accident today at around 10. 05 am when it took a sharp turn and collided with a truck laden with wooden logs coming from the opposite direction.
The impact of the accident was such that the winger was thrown away by around 10 meters. Hearing about the accident, a team of 17 Assam Rifles headed by ARMO Asst Comdt Robin Goyal rushed to the location and provided necessary first aid to the injured, a statement issued by the PRO of IGAR (S) informed.
Out of the ten passengers that were travelling in the winger, four were critically injured and two had minor injuries. The injuries varied from major and minor cuts, head injuries, torn muscles to internal injuries. Wherever necessary, stitches were applied. Four of the injured were given complete treatment and sent back to their villages. Remaining two were referred to Imphal for further management after providing necessary first aid, it added.

The school has 45 blind students. According to a statement issued by the PRO of IGAR (S), Commander 26 Sector Assam Rifles along with other officers and families of the Sector visited the school and interacted with the students and school staff.
