IMPHAL, Dec 20: There is growing suspicion that some staff of Treasury Office, Lamphel, are resorting to unethical practices regarding the pay bill submitted by various State Government Departments for providing salaries to the employees.
According to an information received by The Sangai Express from a source, there are no signs of unethical practices while checking the bills of the various Departments by the Treasury office.
However, the source expressed concern at the growing trend of some officials allegedly taking a fee of Rs 100 or Rs 200 from the officials/ employees who come to submit the bills for processing the salaries.
The source further appealed to the authority concerned as well as the State Government to look into the matter at the earliest.
