IMPHAL, Dec 16: The United Revolutionary Front (URF), in a statement, has stated that the new leaders of the reconciled KCP factions would be announced soon with the enactment of new constitution.

The statement further mentioned that the all reconciled factions should complete their respective tasks before December 31, 2011.

The URF further condemned the killing of KCP (MTF) leader Sunil Meitei by Manipur Police terming it as a ploy to crumble the revolutionary of the region.

IMPHAL, Dec 16: The proscribed PREPAK, in a statement, has clarified that Md.Abudul Khadi alias Amu alias Somendro, Soraisam Ranbir alias Nanao, Sgt.Maj.Oinam Nelson alias Saolin, Lance Corporal Tongbram Joychandra alias Malpa, 2nd Lt Takhellambam Gobind, Mutum Nanao and Corporal Sarangthem Nanao who had surrendered before IGAR (S) as cadres of PREPAK are not related with the outfit.

IMPHAL, Dec 16: As celebrated in other parts of the country, the state government also observed the Vijay Divas at Manipur Secretariat South Block this morning with state law and legislative affair’s  minister Th Devendra as the chief guest, in remembrance of the brave act of the Indian army during the 1971 war against Pakistan.

The chief guest of the function, state senior minister Th Devendra mentioned that, the success of the Indian army during the Indo-pak war of 1971 was due to their sincere dedication to safeguarding the country.

The observation was also attended by state chief secretary, DS Poonia and other administrative officers of the state.

IMPHAL, Dec 15: The indefinite cease-work strike launched by the JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO has completed 53 days with full support from the employees of Manipur Secretariat Services. It would continue the strike till their demands are fulfilled by the state government, stated a release.

IMPHAL, Dec 13: The indefinite cease work strike of the Manipur Secretariat Services’ Association which started today has affected the whole working of Manipur Secretariat. No visitors were allowed in the Campus. No official work was done to-day. Govt.`s irresponsive manner in solving the issue was highly condemned by the General Body of the association, stated a statement of the action committee MSSA and MSDA.

IMPHAL, December 12:  As part of a world wide campaign of “Global Day against child trafficking”, the Child Welfare Committee, Imphal east in collaboration with the district ICDS cell, Imphal east organized a mass campaign on child trafficking today with street corner meetings and poster campaigns at various public places of the district including Wangkhei, Konung Mamang, Kongba, Singjamei, lamlong, pangei, Sawombung, Sagolmang etc and formed a human chain against the various forms of child trafficking in the state.

The formal launching of the mass campaign was flagged off from Young Voluntary Organization ground, Wangkhei Puja Lampak this morning at 10:30am.

IMPHAL December 12: The 10 Assam Rifles under the aegis of Logtak Brigade of Red Shield Division today handed over salary for a year to a lady instructor of VTC at Longmai area as part of Operation Sadbhavana for the year 2011-12. The money was handed over at a small ceremony conducted at Nonei today to the instructor by the commandant of 10 AR. IMPHAL, Dec 11: The Handicapped Development (HD) Foundation organized an observation on “16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence Campaign” under the theme “from peace in the home to peace in the world” at the government Ideal Blind School, Takyel, Imphal today.

The observation was attended by retd senior auditor, AG, Imphal Pheiroijam Irabot Singh, and chairman HD foundation Dr Ch RUpachandra and district social welfare officer, Imphal west Kh Ahanjao Singh as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.

A two minute silence was observed during the function to show solidarity to rape victims in women with disability in Manipur.
