IMPHAL, Dec 16: The United Revolutionary Front (URF), in a statement, has stated that the new leaders of the reconciled KCP factions would be announced soon with the enactment of new constitution.

The statement further mentioned that the all reconciled factions should complete their respective tasks before December 31, 2011.

The URF further condemned the killing of KCP (MTF) leader Sunil Meitei by Manipur Police terming it as a ploy to crumble the revolutionary of the region.

IMPHAL, Dec 16: As celebrated in other parts of the country, the state government also observed the Vijay Divas at Manipur Secretariat South Block this morning with state law and legislative affair’s  minister Th Devendra as the chief guest, in remembrance of the brave act of the Indian army during the 1971 war against Pakistan.

The chief guest of the function, state senior minister Th Devendra mentioned that, the success of the Indian army during the Indo-pak war of 1971 was due to their sincere dedication to safeguarding the country.

IMPHAL, December 12:  As part of a world wide campaign of “Global Day against child trafficking”, the Child Welfare Committee, Imphal east in collaboration with the district ICDS cell, Imphal east organized a mass campaign on child trafficking today with street corner meetings and poster campaigns at various public places of the district including Wangkhei, Konung Mamang, Kongba, Singjamei, lamlong, pangei, Sawombung, Sagolmang etc and formed a human chain against the various forms of child trafficking in the state.

The formal launching of the mass campaign was flagged off from Young Voluntary Organization ground, Wangkhei Puja Lampak this morning at 10:30am.
