SFs accused of defying Govt orders

JIRIBAM, Feb 3: W Shyam Singh (DSO, CAF and PD) and M Tombabu (vice president, All Jiribam Road Transport Drivers’ Union, AJRTDU) have accused the security forces of ignoring the State Government and the High Court orders to escort vehicles stranded at Jiribam due to the UNC’s economic blockade and instead focusing on escorting only some specific vehicles.

Jiribam: The Social Welfare Forum Phaitol to Barak Tousem Tamenglong district has remarked that the weight of vehicles passing through the Barak/ Makru/Irang bridges which are on National highway 37 (Jiribam to Imphal road) has been restricted to only 24 MT but vehicles weighing up to 30 and 40 MT have been passing through the bridges thereby putting immense pressure on the bridges which often led to break down.
