IMPHAL, Jan 10: Manipur Police Sports Club has lifted DSA Kakching trophy by defeating NISA Thangmeiband by 4-2 goals.

Dominating initial stage of the final match, MPSC managed to go ahead with two goal adavantage, one scored by Somochandra in the 7th minute and another scored by Singba Kabui in the 15th minute.

In the 25th minute, NISA managed to reduce goal difference with its striker Ratan scoring a goal in the 25th minute.

Singba Kabui scored again in the 32nd minute to put MPSC lead 3-1 at the end of first half.

Unlike, the first half, the second half of the match looked evenly balanced and players of both the teams concentrated on their zones to counter rival attacks.

However, at final stage of the match, NISA once again managed to reduce the goal differences as Ratan scoring again in the 87th minute.

NISA’s hope of levelling the score could not last long as MPSC’s veteran striker Nilakumar scored fourth goal for the team in the 89th minute.

IMPHAL, Jan 8: UCC, Uripok defeated NAPSA, Haobam Marak by 56 runs  in today’s match of the veteran cricket tournament being held at Luwangpokpa ground, Luwangsangbam.

NAPSA won the toss and elected to field first.

UCC scored 178 runs for loss of six wicket in the alotted 35 overs.   Shashikumar was top scorer for UCC. He scored 50 runs from 75 balls.

NAPSA could not reached the target as all their wickets were lost in 29 overs.

Ritikumar of UCC who scored 31 runs and took four wickets was declared man of the match.

IMPHAL, Jan 8: XI Boys defeated Football World by 8-3 goals in today’s first match of the ongoing L Rabichandra memorial football tournament being held at Kyamgei playground.

Santosh scored five goals for XI Boys while Rajesh added two more and Herojit a lone. For Football World, Milan scored two goals while Imban scored one goal.

In the second ground match, KFC(B) defeated PRSTHH by 2-1 goals.

Somendro scored first goal for the winning team in the 6th minute while Rabi added another in the 12th minute. In the 13th minute, Chandramani reduce the goal difference after which the scorboard remain unchanged.

IMPHAL, Jan 8: NISA Thangmeiband has reached final of the DSA Kakching football tournament being held at DSA Kakching playground. NISA will clash with MPSC in the final on January 10. NISA overcame spirited challenge from SAO Kakching to reach the title stage with a 3-2 win.

In the second semi final played today, NISA took an early lead as Somorendro scored from close range in the 2nd minute.

Before the first half whistle blows, NISA consolidates their lead with another goal scored by Bijen in the 42nd minute.

As the second half was in progress SAO manage to reduce one goal with Samananda scoring in the 50th minute.

However, in the next minute NISA’s Jimmy netted in third goal for the team to regain their position.

Again in the 83rd minute, SAO posed a threat to NISA’s celebration of entering the final as Robinson narrowed the goal difference with a fine goal.

SAO’s spirited challenge failed to capitalise as the match ended in a 3-2 in favour of NISA.

During the match, referee awarded three yellow cards. NISA’s Ajitkumar and SAO’s Matum and Ngamba were cautioned by the match referee during the match for unsporting behaviours and committing foul play against rival players.

IMPHAL, Dec 30: L Ajit Meetei and I Rabichandra Singh have been appointed by the AIFF to officiate the matches of the I-League. While Ajit will officiate four I-League matches to be played on January 13, 15, 17 and 19 at Kolkata while I Rabichandra will officiate in match No. 99, a release of the AMFA said.

IMPHAL, Dec 30: PYC Bashikhong defeated YSNC, Kontha Khabam in today’s first match of the L Rabichandra memorial football tournament being held at Kyamgei playground.

The Bashikhong team won the match 4-1 goals.

In the second match of the day, Khagi Club, Kyamgei lost to PJPC, Pukhao.

The Pukhao side won the match 4-2.

IMPHAL, Dec 30: NMYC, Nongren defeated NYC, Nongdam in today’s first match of the Lamlai-Andro kendra football tournament being held at Nongdam playground.

Robinho and Sanathoi scored for Nongren team while L Iphel scored for the lone goal for Nongdam team.

After today’s match, quarter final line has been finalised for the tournament.

In the first quarter final match, SSC Sekta will meet SPN, Nongdam while BSU will clash NPYC in the second quarter. Both the matches will be played on January 2.

In the third quarter final, SYC will play UYPA and YLC will play TYC in the last quarter final match to be played on January 3.

S Naoba scored the lone  goal for the Chajing United while Kh Satish scored two goals for Okram Chuthek team. Somo scored third goal for the CYTL in the 35th minute.

In the second ground match, IMPHIES, Soibam Leikai defeated SDA, Yaripok by 15-3 goals.

Th Kishan of IMPHIES scored ten goals while Anand and Ramso scored twice each. Chaoba too scored one goal for the team.

Sadam scored two goal for SDA while Jidan scored one goal for the team.

IMPHAL, Dec 29: The Rey’s of Nagamapal defeated Model Club, Chingamakha by 8 wickets in today’s match of the Veteran Cricket Tournament which is being held at Luwangpokpa Cricket ground, Luwangsangbam organised by the Manipur Veteran Cricket Association.

Model Club won the toss and elected to bat first. In the alloted 30 overs, the Rey’s scored 95 runs with the loss of all of their wickets.

Chasing a traget of 96, the Rey’s reached the target in just 19.4 overs with the loss of only two wickets. P Shrukant of Rey’s who took four wickets in the match was declared man of the match.

IMPHAL, Dec 29: The first Khumukcham Ibungoyaima  memorial veteran hockey tournament, 2011 which was earlier postponed due to tense situation in the state will begin from December 31, 2011. The tournament is being sponsored by the Khumukcham Ongbi Leonlee Devi memorial trust and it will be organised by the Manipur Veteran Hokcey Association, said a release.

IMPHAL, Dec 29: Two teams of the MPSC will clash in the final of the Brajabidhu and Ranjit memorial state level Sepak Takraw championship which is being held at Pourabi, Imphal East. The title match will be played between MPSC (C) and MPSC(A) teams.

In the first semi final played today MPSC(C) defeated IMSUC by 2-0 with scores of 21-17, 21-16. In the second semi final MPSC(A) defeated MPSC(B) by 2-0 with scores of 21-18, 21-14. The two winning team enter the final.

In a match played later today for the third place, MPSC (B) defeated IMSUC by 21-14, 21-17 to take the third spot.

In the first semi final played today Imphal West defeated DSA Bishnupur by 5-0 goals.

Kh Vicky scored twice for the winner while H Naobi, M Piyananda and N Hemanta scored one each goal.

In the second semi final played later in the day, Imphal East had a narrow win against the spirited DSA Kakching.

Imphal East managed to reach the final with their 3-2 win against the fighting DSA Kakching.

O Ajay, K Luckychand and Md Imaban scored one goal each for Imphal Each while Sushilkumar and Robinson scored for the Kakching team.

The final match will played tomorrow at the same venue.
