IMPHAL, Nov 16: USA defeated AIM by 7-6 in today’s match of 55th Edition of CC Meet Football Tournament held at Mapal Kangjeibung, Imphal.

Both teams were locked in 3-3 draw till the end of stipulated time.

F Lalzarzo, Thangkhosen and Haolengou Kipgen scored one goal each for USA while the goals for AIM were scored by L Gouro (two goals) and M Robinson (one goal).

Later, USA defeated AIM by 4-3 in the tie-breaker.

SSU will play against NEROCA in tomorrow’s match of the tournament.

The goals for TRAU were scored by M Sudhiranjan and Rakesh in 32nd and 70th minute of the match respectively.

Rakesh and Sudhiranjan of TRAU and Thangminlen and Maringmei of MPSC were booked yellow cards during the match.

With this win against MPSC, TRAU has entered the quarter final round of the tournament.

AIM will meet USA in tomorrow’s match.

IMPHAL, Nov 14: Manipur emerged overall champion in the 6th North East Zone Wushu Championship which concluded today at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex.

On the the final day Manipur bagged altogether 22 goal medals thereby enhancing their goal account and consequently emerging overall team champion in the championship.

In the sub-junior boys – 24kg category, Bedanta of Manipur bagged gold while  H Karnajit of Manipur bagged silver medal.

In the sub-junior boys – 36kg category Y Jeshan of Manipur defeated N Bishwamitra of Arunachal Pradesh to win gold while in the 40kg category, Ch Sanajaoba of Manipur bagged gold after defeating Kh Sanathoi of Nagaland in the final.

In the 44kg category of the same category, Ksh Dalber Singh of Manipur defeated Lalnunthara of Mizoram to win gold.

In the 52kg category, Th Bickey of Manipur bagged gold by defeating Tiplanglyngdoh in the final.

In the girls 44kg sub-junior category Bidyabati Devi of Manipur defeated N Sharmila of AP to bagged gold while in in the 44kg of the same category Malemnganbi of Manipur also bagged gold.

In the junior boys category 48kg, Kh Rohit defeated Kilikan Basumatary of Assam to bagged gold for the state while M Nipon Singh bagged gold in the same category in the 65kg class. In the 70kg class, Sachikanta bagged gold for the Manipur team.

In the senior Men 48kg class N Boney of Manipur bagged gold while in the Senior men 52kg class Oinam Romen Singh of Manipur won gold.

In the senior men 56kg categoryPh Beishop Meitei of Manipur won gold while in the senior men 60kg category L Dilip Singh of Manipur won gold.

In the senior men 65kg category N Damu Meitei won gold while T Bisheshwar also of Manipur bagged gold in the senior men 75kg category.

In the senior women 52kg category, M Mamtaj Chanu of Manipur bagged gold while in the senior women 75kg category, K Romila Devi of Manipur bagged gold.

IMPHAL, Nov 14: The Maniour State League Clubs willing to apply by fulfilling the prescribed criteria for the entry to the AIFF 2nd Division League 2011-12 may apply for on or or before November 18 for onward submission to AIFF. The prescribed criteria can be had from the AMFA office, said a release.

IMPHAL, Nov 14: Following the recommendation of the panel of selectors cricketers who are to represent Manipur for the U-19 and U-22 have been selected for the ensuing BCCI Associate and affiliate members cricket tournament 2011-12.

The selected batsman are T Sabtosh, Ng Rajesh, K Viteshwar, S Jayenta, Mintu Chandra, Kh Bimol, Md. Shah Dat and L Gibon.

The selected pace bowler are K Homendro, Th Jenius, Jitendra Thakur, M Bijoykumar, M Thomas and Kh Hiralal.

The selected all rounders are H Sanjit, RK Jotish, E Joychandra, Rajesh Patel, Ng Mahesh, N William, M Tejkumar, Ak Tennyson, John Sangh and M Langolyamba.

The spinners selected for the team are Md Sultan, N Sarojkumar and K Sanjit while N Ajit, U Robinson and Ksh Narsingh were selected for wicket keepers.

All the selected players are informed to report to the officials at Luwangpokpa Cricket Ground on November 16 at 7.30am sharp.

The goals for MPSC were scored by Ksh Kanta in 6th, 63rd and 75th minutes and Th Bipin in 14th and 49th minutes of the match.

Ksh Kanta is the first player to score a hattrick in the tournament.

MPSC will meet TRAU in the pre-final quarter final match on November 15.

Tomorrow, SSU will play against KIYC.

IMPHAL, Nov 10: Ph Roshan of Bishnupur won the best individual athletic award in U-14 boys’ category by securing first position in 100 m, 200 m and long jump events of state level inter-school athletics meet held at Khuman Lampak Complex, Imphal.

N Joymala of Imphal West, Md Sadam of Churachandpur and S Chingkheileima of Imphal East won the best athletic award in the category of U-14 girls, U-17 boys and U-17 girls respectively.

IMPHAL, Nov 10: FC Lajong, Shillomg and Air India, Maharashtra were locked in goalless draw in today’s match of I-League held at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium, Imphal.

Lajong got a spot kick in 85th minute when Kali Allauddin of Air India was handling the ball inside the penalty area. Aiboi Khongjee of Lajong took the spot kick, but Paonam Kumar of Air India saved the goal in 86th minute of the match.

Lalchhanmawia, Eugenson Lyngdoh, Bijoy Basfore, Sandesh Gadkari and Kali Alaudeen were booked yellow cards during the match.

James Glatee of FC Lajong was declared the man of the match.

IMPHAL, Nov 10: A team of seven players and two officials of Soft Tennis Association of Manipur today left Imphal to take part in the 9th National Soft Tennis Championship, 2011 from November 9 to 14 at Endurance Tennis Court, Divisional Sports Complex, Garkheda, Aurangabad, Maharashtra.

The players are N Suresh, W Milky, K Gibson, P Roshan, Kh Gainner, Dingku Irengbam and K Sanathoi. G Arunkumar is the team coach and L Nandalal in the team manager.
