IMPHAL, May 13: SSA Charangpat and COSMO Wangkhei have won their respective matches in the 35th mens and 17th womens state hockey league being held at Khuman Lampak.

In the first match played today SSA defeated YCPA Chandel by 6-0.

M Sapana scored two goals for SSA in the 1st and 48th minute while M Pushparani scored three goals in the 7th, 25th and 44th minute. Ch Abesana scored one goal too.

In the 35th mens league, COSMO had an easy win against SYUC, Uchekon Khunou.

Rahul scored four goals for COSMO in the 43rd, 51st, 59th and 69th minute. while K Boy scored two goals in the 52nd and 66th minute. Momo too scored one goal in the 35th minute.

The only goal for the SYUC was scored by Dhananjoy in the 64th minute.

IMPHAL, May 18: MEIRAA defeated SLO Bishnupur by a solitary goal whil MPSC defeated YAC by 5-1 goals in today`™s matches of the 35th mens and 17th womens state hockey league at Khuman Lampak Hockey Stadium.

In the first ground match of the day for 17th women`™s state hockey league MEIRAA, Bashikhong defeated SLO Bishnupur by 1-0 goal.

The all important goal for MEIRAA was scored by S Arunkumari Devi in the 34th minute.

In the match for the 35th mens state hockey league which was played as second ground match of the day, MPSC defeated YAC by 5-1 goals.

S Rabi scored three goals in the 1st, 5th and 11th minute while Th Birjit and P Jupiter scored in the 10th and 26th minutes of the match respectively to total MPSC`™s goal to five.

The only goal for YAC was scored by Sitaljit in the 14th minute.

IMPHAL, June 10: WYC defeated SIRTI, Chandel by 3-1 in today’s match of the 1st Yairipok Veteran Football tournament being held at Azad English School ground.

In the first ground match of today, WYC had an easy win against SIRTI.

N Gandhi opened goal account for WYC in the 7th minute while Kh Ingobi added another in the 45th minute. Later in the second half L Thakur scored another goal to total three goal for WYC. Th Golson reduced one goal for SIRTI in the 48th minute.

In the second ground match, ISAV beat FLAM by 3-1 goals.

T Shyam, W Mohon and N Bochou scored one goal each for the ISAV while Joy Kabui scored the only goal for FLAM.

IMPHAL, June 12: The Raseshori of SWC win the gold while T Anzani of PPLYDO took silver and S Niha, the bronze in the mini girls Foil event of the 7th Governor’s Cup fencing championship being held at Indoor Stadium of Khuman Lampak sports complex.

In the mini girls Sabree event, S Ormila of Mishikhol took gold while Homeshori of SWC won the silver medal. The bronze medal was shared between Kh Kalambia of SAI and L Memtombi of SWC.

In the mini boys Sabre event, Chingkheilembi of UPAA won the gold while M Pravana of Mishikhol won the silver and N Abram Linkon of SWC won the bronze.

In the mini boys Epee event, O Victor took gold whileL Bhupen and Th Bommai respectively bagged silver and bronze medals.

In the sub-junior girls Epee, H Linthoi of UPAA won gold while S Chingkhei also of UPAA won silver. The bronse medal was shared between Rashiya of PPYDO and S Kiranbala of OLA.

IMPHAL, June 25: Host Manipur and Assam will clash for titles in both boys and girls section of the 8th East Zone Baseball tournament being held at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex. 

In the last league round match for the boys played today, Assam defeated Bihar by 7-1. For Assam, Rajeev scored two runs while Mahujya, Nagin, Anup, Warjib and Shabir scored one run each. Shubhadayar scored the only run that the Bihar team could manage to score in the match.

In another match of the day, host Manipur defeated Assam by 14-4 runs.

T David hit a homer for Manipur while S Lalit scored three runs. M Raju, S Kikson, S Nongthang, Y Nilakanta, S Ramesh and Gurish were scorer for the host team.

IMPHAL, July 7: M Punshisana of Manipur has bagged gold medal in women half marathon at the recently concluded Special Olympic World Summer Games-2011 held at Athens, Greece from June 24 to July 5.

She also bagged fourth position in the women’s 3000 m race in the Special Olympic games.

Another disabled from Manipur W Pritam, who was a member of the Indian Handball team in the Games bagged silver medal.

Ch Abung and Sajahao Dongel also took part in the Games as member of the Indian football team’

The Games also had another participant from Manipur, Huirem Chaoba Singh, who represented India as a coach.

IMPHAL, July 18: Charangpat High School, Thoubal emerged as the champion of both U-15 boys’ and U-17 girls’ inter-school JN Hockey Tournament.

In the final match of U-17 girls’ hockey tournament, Charangpat High School beat Jai Hind High School by 2(3)-2(1) goals in the tie-breaker. 

And in U-15 boys’ tournament, Charangpat High School thrashed OB High School, Bishnupur by 9-0 goals.

IMPHAL, Sept 14: SSU defeated YDO by 3-0 in today’s match of 6th Manipur State League held at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium.

Md Sahidur opened the goal account of SSU in 30th minute of the play while Kh Prasanta added another two goals in 61st and 79th minute.

Arunkumar of SSU and Pamei Ajangpu of YDO were booked yellow cards during the match.

Meanwhile, the venue of state league will be shifted to Mapal Kangjeibung from September 16.

IMPHAL, Sept 22: Manipur University defeated Tripura University by 4-0 in today’s match of East Zone Inter-University Football Tournament held at Sabalpur, Orissa.

Fernando and Pradeepkumar scored two goals each for the Manipur University team.

MU is leading the point table with nine points. So far MU has defeated Orissa University of Technology and  Jadhavpur University in the previous matches.

MU will play against Kolkata University in the quarter final match tomorrow.

IMPHAL, April 11: CRAU beat YAC and MCA academy beat PCA in the U14 Cricket Tournament 2011 matches played today. The tournament is organized by Manipur Cricket Association.

CRAU beat YAC by 32 runs in the match played at Khuman Lampak cricket ground. Winning the toss, CRAU elected to bat first were 160 all out after 23.2 overs. Premjit was the highest scorer scoring 31 in just 16 balls. YAC`™s Nikhil took 5 wickets.

YAC`™s Nikhil was declared man of the match scoring 41 runs and taking 5 wickets in the match.

IMPHAL, April 28: IMC Thoubal emerged winner of the boys state level handball tournament while SAIRC emerged winner in the girls section of the 31st junior boys and girls state level handball tournament held at CITIZENS club, Soibam Leikai, Imphal East.
In the final match for the junior boys, IMC defeated YLK by 24-10 goals while SAIRC defeated CITIZEN by 17-10.
Ksh Lenin scored a total of nine goals for IMC in the  first match while Th Milan and N Sharatchandra scored four goals each. N Joychandra scored three goals while L Lanngamba scored two goals in the match.
For CLK, K Bidyananda scored eight goals while S Lalit and W Romio scored one goal each.
In the final match for the girls, SAIRC defeated CITIZEN by 17-10.
O Anjali of SAIRC was top scorer in the final as she netted in a total of 10 goals. B Sunitibala scored four goals while N Abinash and Th Kamala scored two and one goal respectively.
Ribeka scored seven goal for the CITIZEN while T Ranju scored two and W Ranjita scored one goal.

IMPHAL, May 5: Nagaland veteran football team has entered semi final of the 13th Challenge Cup veteran football tournament being held at Mapal Kangjeibung.

In the third quarter final match played today Nagaland team defeated UVFA by 3-0 goals.

In the semi final, the Nagaland veteran football team will clash with IMVFA Heingang on May 7.

In the fourth quarter final match played today, FC Imphal defeated KVFA to move into the semi final.

FC Imphal won the match 2-1.

Krishna Kumar scored first goal for FC Imphal in the 8th minute. Seven minutes later Krishna Kumar scored again and increased the goal margin which was reduced by KVFA`™s Kendrajit in the 33rd minute.

FC Imphal will clash FLAM in the second semi final to be played on May 8.

Th Santosh, I Nilakumar, L Thoiba and Kh Naoton scored one goal each for Manipur.
