IMPHAL, Apr 10: A new chairman of the Hill Areas Committee of the Manipur Legislative Assembly will be elected on April 12.
According to a government notification, the Governor of Manipur Gurbachan Jagat has fixed April 12 at 11am as the date and tie for holding the election to the office of the chairman, Hill Areas Committee of the Manipur Legislative Assembly.
According to a previous notification, the state Governor had appointed TN Haokip, member Hill Areas Committee to preside over the meeting for the election.
Members of the HAC have been requested to attend the election at 11am in the lobby of the new Assembly building at Chingmeirong.
