Imphal, Apr 14: The RPF extended gratitude to all who pay tributes on martyrs day, April 13. It thanked students, government, private institutions, bar members , security personnel for ensuring success of the observation. The movement is moving forward and people are supporting the cause it said in a statement today.
People of the Manipur paid floral tributes to the site of martyrs on cheiraoching of Chingmeirong yesterday.
It may be mentioned here that nine cadres of PLA including the leader of the outfit, Thoudam Kunjabihari, Kakwa Nameirakpam Leikai and eight others were killed in an encounter with Bihar Regiment posted at Tulihal Airport at Kodompokpi, Imphal West on April 13, 1982. Other deceased cadres were Moirangthem Premkumar, Tera Sapam Leirak, Khundrakpam Chaoba alias Rajendra Meitei, Kwakeithel Moirangpurel Leikai, Thoudam Loken, Nameirakpam Leikai, Naorem Rajen, Naorem Leikai, Maibam Paka alias Chaothoi, Heirok II, Litan Makhong, Sorokhaibam Kameshor alias Kanta, Heibong Pokpi Mayai Leikai and RK Khoiramba alias Jane, Moreh Heinou Makhong.
