Longest salad was prepared here today during the third chinjak (food) festival . Green salad a which was 100 m long and six inches wide was prepared by 15 volunteers , weighing 781.3 kg in 90 minutes. The main objective is to make an entry in Guinness book of records.
Tourism Commissioner, KK Chetry flagged off the attempt and the 15 volunteers of Innovative youth society initiative started preparing the salad. Hundreds of people and media were present in the record attempt and was videotaped . The video will be sent for entry in the world record books. The visitors ate the salad after the event was over.
According to the organisers the initiative was to make food festival popular.
