The United National Liberation Front (UNLF) today said a demolition squad of UNLF-MPA was responsible for the attack on Assam Rifles personnel on Sep 5 at Keishampat in which two Assam Rifles personnel sustained injuries. Ksh Yoihenba, Senior Publicity Officer , UNLF said in a statement that the attack was planned to ensure that civilians were not injured . He justified the attacks giving details of atrocities meted out to the people by troops. He said that in the Western South East Asia including Manipur more than 60,000 troops are stationed in the name of controlling the independence struggle in the region. The troops are killing people and massacre of people by lining them up has become a normal feature he said. Draconian acts like AFSPA are imposed and innocents are killed in fake encounter it was added.
Many women like Manorama, Chanu Rose were raped and killed in front of their own parents it was alleged. Cases of rape are galore including that of Ahanjaobil, Luingamla. Such attacks will continue revealed. He also advised civilians to remain away from the troops as such attacks may endanger their lives.
