IMPHAL, Dec 17: The skeleton of a 70-year-old missing person was found yesterday morning at around 9:30am from Langthabal Khoupum hillock under Singjamei Police Station.
The deceased has been identified as Mutum Mani, 70, son of (L) M Tejmani, a resident of Lilong Chajing Awang Leikai.
The skeleton was found with a rope tied to his neck, sources said.
The skeleton was found near a tree and the way the skeleton was found has led to speculations that he could have committed suicide by hanging from the tree, sources said.
According to his family members, he was not a mentally sound person and it has been around three months that he went missing after he left from home.
His remnants were handed over to his family members today after a post mortem was conducted at RIMS.
