IMPHAL, December 31: The 5th Kabi-kirtan (Wakma hongba) was observed today at the residence of Late Poet Nongthombam Biren at Uripok Achom Leikai organised by the deceased poet`s wife Nongthombam (O) Karuna Devi (Wife) and sons, and the Shri Biren Ningshing Khudol Fongdokpa Lup.
The occasion was attended by literary icons and artistes of the state that included Laishram Birendrakumar Singh, RK Jhaljit Singh, B Jayentakumar Sharma, Khumanthem Prakash Singh, Elangbam Sonamani Singh, Aribam Chitreshwar Sharma, Elangbam Dinamani Singh, Aribam Shyam Sharma, Thoidingjam Tomba Singh and Ratan Thiyam.
A book titled “Shri Biren ningshing khudol” was also released at the function.
