Imphal, June 22 : Aimed at creating mass awareness about the centrally-sponsored schemes in Manipur, an 8-day photo exhibition on the theme ‘Development Initiatives in North East’ kick-off saturday at Moirang Multipurpose Higher Secondary School. The exhibition which would continue till June 29 is being organized by the Field Exhibition Office, Directorate of Advertising & Visual Publicity (DAVP), Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, Imphal.
Setting the campaign into motion, S Kumar Singh, Principal, Moirang Multipurpose Higher Secondary School, who grace the occasion as Chief Guest exhorted the students and public of the area to advantage of the program. He said that visual being a strong medium of communication, the exhibition would be beneficial for everyone who whish to know and understand the program and policies of the Government of India.
Earlier, proposing the key-note address, Dr Gin Gangte, IIS, Field Exhibition Officer, DAVP, Imphal said that the aims of exhibition is to disseminate information about the various development projects taken up by the Government of India.
A total of 130 photographs are on display as part of the 8-day long campaign.
