Imphal, Dec 21 : Chief Minister, O Ibobi Singh greeted people of Manipur on the occasion of Christmas, the birthday of Lord Jesus Christ. He said Christmas is a time of great joy, cheer, hope and happiness. It reminds all of us of the profound message of Lord Jesus to promote peace, unity and harmony in society and amongst one another. Let is rededicate ourselves on this occasion to imbibe the life and teachings of Christ for the welfare of humankind. He said. May the spirit of Christmas fill our lives with peace, love and prosperity.
Chairman of Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) Kamson has sent out his greeting to all the Christian community in the auspicious occasion of Christmas and New Year.
“May this Christmas and New Year bring prosperity, peace and harmony in north eastern states,” said Mr Kamson.
The ZUF chief said there should be no war nor violent activities in this season in his greeting.
Meanwhile, the ZUF condemned the killing of Boudiyang Panmei (36) at Tamenglong during the Orange Festival. “We will investigate and find out the culprits at the earliest. It is suspected or doubtful that the incident was related to the Orange Festival boycotting measure,” the ZUF alleged.
“The incident is a serious concern for us, so we will investigate and stern actions will be taken against any individual or organization involved in the incident,” it pledges.
