IMPHAL, November 11: The District Magistrate Imphal West district under section CrPC 144 has prohibited the entry of unauthorised persons or trespassers to the Mapal Kangjeibung with effect from November 10 until further orders.
An order issued by the Magistrate, Ningthoujam Geoffrey, said that the prohibitory order was issue as a pre-emptive measure to ensure smooth organising of the International Tournament scheduled to be held on November 22 during the Sangai Festival, 2015.
It said that in view of ensuing tournament, it is required to keep the event venue clean, hygienic, well-maintained, and also to take advance security measures.
It divulged that the prohibitory order shall not apply to members of the Mapal Kangjeibung Use, Prevention and Maintenance Committee; security and police personnel duly detailed by the SP, Imphal West for enforcing the order and for maintaining security of the Kangjeibung; organising Committee of the tournament and persons authorities by the organisers; officers and officials involved in enforcing law and order, to onlookers, invitees and audience visiting the venue for watching the tournament.
