Taking serious note of the demand of RIMS Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department to revoke the order which placed one doctor under suspension in connection with the death of Th Kheroda during delivery within 24 hours and their decision to take mass casual leave on July 15, RIMS Director Prof Ch Arunkumar has appealed to department’s authority not to take mass casual leave as it would create lots of difficulties to patients.

According to a source, the two arrested RPF/PLA cadres have been identified as Maibam Kumar (60) of Kwakeithel Heinoukhong-nembi and Pebam Ahanjao alias Diesel (44) of Kwakeithel Lamdong. One Maruti Alto car and two mobile handsets were recovered from them. The source also said that the two cadres were involved in carrying out extortion on Ngari traders and Govt officials. They have been handed over to Singjamei PS.
