IMPHAL Aug 31 : Saramshe Paddy Field Lourup of Khamasom Walely, Ukhrul has condemned the Manipur State Rural Roads Development Agency for complete displacement of a common village dam for construction of a bridge by the Agency without the consent of the land owners resulting in damages to many paddy fields between Hoishu village and K Phungrei village at Saramshe near Challou river. Several representations were submitted to the competent authority but no action has been taken till date after which a Joint Action Committee has been constituted to demand compensation for the damaged paddy fields through appropriate forum of law, said a statement issued by the village chairman.
