NCUI organises workshop on cooperatives

NCUI-Cooperative Education Field Project Thoubal have organised today a workshop with the theme ‘motivate youths in cooperatives,’ funded by National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI) New Delhi at Kshetri Shanglen, Thoubal. 

A reception programme for the newly appointed president, (MSCU) Manipur State Cooperative Union Imphal, L Tompishak Singh was held during the workshop. The occasion was attended by chairman, Institute of Cooperative Management, Imphal and president, MSCU Imphal, L Tompishak as chief guest, chairman, NCUI-Project Coorperation Committee Manipur, Jeena Potsangbam as president and district cooperative officer, Thoubal Ngaithem Thaba Singh, chief executive officer, MSCU Imphal, I Iboyaima Singh, project officer, NCUI Cooperative Education Field Project, Thoubal, Th Pahari Singh as guests of honours.

Former district cooperative officer, Bishnupur, Kh. Tomba Singh spoke about the role of women regarding the development of cooperatives while board director, MSCU Imphal, S Hemanta Singh spoke on the role of youths regarding the development of cooperatives, as the resource person. 

L Tompishak  Naharol said about the need for drawing attention of the youths towards cooperatives and to provide the required training. He urged all for cooperation in making a harmonious living by helping each other and creating a developed Manipur.

Rs. 800 crores has been sanctioned by the government for giving training to the youths about cooperatives and providing them employment. It will be held first at the six districts of Manipur.

However, financial assistance will not be availed to those who are not affiliated to MSCU even if their societies exist under the central or state government. Therefore, they are urged to affiliate under MSCU.
