Kohima, Dec 2 :From equi-distance to equi-closeness, the Naga political issue has traversed far charting a troubled course. And no living Naga politician has ridden that trail for as long as the Grand Old Man of Naga Politics, Odisha Governor SC Jamir, who advocated the theory of “equi-distance” from Naga separatist groups. On Saturday though, Jamir seemed to agree with the direction the Naga talks are heading.

First Double Renal Angioplasty performed

IMPHAL, Dec 2: For the first time in the State, Double Renal Angioplasty was successfully performed at SKY Hospital on November 14. According to a press release from SKY Hospital & Research Centre Pvt Ltd, the specialised procedure was conducted on a 43 years old male patient from Langjing, Imphal West, who was referred from another hospital with chest pain and hypertension. His contrast renal angiogram revealed an unusual renal blood supply, Normally one renal (kidney) artery originating from abdominal aorta supplies each kidney (right & left). In his case, two renal arteries supply each kidney, it said.

Champion archer calls on CM

IMPHAL, Dec 2 (DIPR): Paonam Lily Chanu who bagged silver medal in the World Archery Championship held in Mexico in October this year, called on Chief Minister N Biren at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat today.
The Chief Minister lauded the champion archer on achieving the feat. He also wished her for a bright future career.
Lily Chanu was part of the Indian Compound Archery team, which won silver medal in the World Archery Championship held in Mexico from October 15 to 22 this year.
She had bagged three Gold Medals, two Silver Medals and two Bronze Medals in different international championships held earlier.

He has been identified as Md Rakibur Rahaman (34) s/o (L) Md Hasamuddin of Thoubal Moijing Mayai Leikai.
The police team seized 1 kg of Brown Sugar valued about 15 lakh in local market and other incriminating articles from his possession. A case was registered at NAB police station and investigation is on, the release said.

On the other hand, the Division Bench has also asked Transporters and Drivers Council and directed it to inspect the condition along the National Highways and to submit the report before the Court on December 18.
The Court also directed it to submit a report on the weight license issued by the Transport Department on December 18 as well.
