IMPHAL, Dec 27: Owing to recurrence of flood and uninterrupted movement of heavy vehicles engaged in Dolaithabi Barrage project, the Wakangkhong bridge connecting Yumnam Khunou and Sambei along Imphal-Saikul road is on the verge of collapse within a few days. In a press release, Khundrakpam Kendra Youths Organisation (KHUKYO) urged the authority concerned to construct a diversion bridge to avoid any untoward eventualities in the future. Saying that repeated pleas were made to the authority concerned to look into the deplorable condition of Imphal-Saikul road and the Wakangkhong bridge, the organisation said that the State Government should bear sole responsibility for any unwanted incident arise thereof.
