IMPHAL, Feb 20: AIM has become the champion of 4th Loktak football tournament after defeating NEROCA by 2-1 goals in the final match held today at the ground of Moirang Multipurpose Higher Secondary School.

The winning goals of AIM were scored by Naoton and Roshan in 48th and 81st minutes of the match respectively while the solitary goal of NEROCA was scored by T. Dhiren in 41st minute.

The champion AIM was awarded a cash prize of Rs 40,000 along with the trophy while runner-up NEROCA bagged cash prize of Rs 20,000 with trophy.

Thomas of NEROCA was given the best player award while the award for fair play team was presented to YWC Thambalkhong.
The final match of the tournament was graced by YAS minister N. Biren as the chief guest and MLA M. Prithiviraj as the president.

IMPHAL, Feb 20: The state women’s cycling team comprising of Ch. Rameshwari, Th. Helen, Kh. Suchitra and Y. Sunita have bagged the gold medal in cycling team pursuit at the ongoing 34th National Games being held at Jharkhand.

Ch. Rameshwari and Kh. Suchitra will also compete against each other in the final round of women’s individual sprint race.
On the other hand, Bikram will face Amrik Singh of Punjab in the final round of men’s sprint race tomorrow.

KOHIMA, Feb 20 (NEPS): A meeting of MFI Central Board Committee (CBC) was held today under the chairmanship of MFI president  Oken Jeet Sandham at Hotel Japfu, Kohima, to approve various Committees of MFI. After a thorough deliberation as to how the National Federation (MFI) should be effectively run and streamlined, various committees which were tabled during the Meeting have been approved. MFI secretary general and technical chairman, O Manglemajo, MFI national joint secretary Ng Jeet Khumancha, MFI senior executive member L Kennedy and other MFI Members attended the said meeting.
