The climate seems to be suitable for both the flowers but it is on how they were esteemed by the people that they get popularity or lack of it. Anyhow, which do you prefer, lily or lotus? Lily grows in the hills while the Lotus grows in the valley. Can the lotus be grown in the Hills too? Of late, some of the hill people also seem to like the lotus so much so that it has begun to take roots, though it is yet to bloom.

It is quite disturbing to see in local dailies that the Physics Question Paper on the 5th April 2017 of the on-going Higher Secondary Exam conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur leaked through WhatsApp. Some of the culprits are reported to have been pulled up by the cyber Crime Branch of Police. Let the law of the land take its own course. On 31st March too, fake Chemistry Question paper also went viral through WhatsApp and it must have caused irreparable damage to a lot of students who want to get good marks with little labour. Some unscrupulous elements may be working behind this misadventure.

The man who bridges Manipuri Meiteis living beyond the eastern horizon

Many people express their deep sorrow and heartfelt words when Aigya Sunder Gopal Sharma departs this world for the heavenly abode of God on 15-03-2017. There are hundreds more who could not express but felt shock and sorrow at the news of the demise of this man they lovingly call Aigya. Some friends and well wishers of Aigya even went to attend his ‘Sradha’ at Mandalay as a token of love for the late Aigya. Still there are hundred others who could not go to Mandalay for one reason or other but observe it in Manipur.

I am quite surprised when a news headline entitled “Ministry na thamlakliba thajaba adumak thabakta onthokkani : R K Dinesh “ appeared in the Manipuri newspaper the “Poknapham” dated 5th April,2017. As a senior IAS officer, RK, Dinesh may not be happy and in a dilemma with his new posting by the Union Health Ministry. He may be aware that there is already a war between the Union Health Ministry and the MCI. At this juncture, his posting may lead to a series of chain reactions in the Indian context. I feel that this posting will damage his reputation and prestige as a civil servant. He may be aware that he does not fulfil the eligibility criteria laid down by MCI for the post of the Director of a Medical College.
