IMPHAL, June 21: The Manipur Table Tennis Association has opened daily table tennis coaching cum practice session from June 15 at the Indoor hall of DM College campus. All the concerned players may avail the benefits from 5 to 7pm, said a release adding a TT Machine costing about Rs 80 lakhs have arrived.  

It said about 30 players both boys and girls are taking part in the ongoing coaching cum practice under the keen eye of coach Th Birendra.

IMPHAL, July 7: Hockey Manipur has postpond Super Six Hockey league-2011 due to unavailability of the Astro-Turf Hockey field and natural calamity.

Top six hockey clubs/associations of Manipur namely MPSC, COSMO, YCCIC, UYAC, SSA and MEIRAA are to take part in the league.

Hockey Manipur has informed all the concerned officials of the participating teams to submit official entry on or before July 10 along with entry fee of Rs 2000.

IMPHAL, July 10: Henglep Govt. High School, Churachandpur has emerged winner of the U-14 state level Subroto Mukherjee football tournament which concluded today at the Khuman Lampak Main Stadium.

In the final played today, the CCPur school defeated Thoubal district winner Martin Grammar English school, Kakching.

The final score reads 2-0 in favour of the CCPur school.

Jesse Nganlemmang scored the opening goal in the 12th minute while Phungtanlian scored the second goal in the 40th minute.

Kamminsei, who is considered to be playmaker of the Henglep High School, was intrumental in both the goals. He contributed two perfect pass to affect the goals.

In the prize distribution function held after the final match, AMFA secretary L Ranjit Roy attended as chief guest while RC Sharma, former Dy. director YAS as president.

In the meantime, U-17 Subroto Mukherjee state level football tournament will kick start tomorrow at the same venue. Altogether 10 school are taking part in the tournament.

IMPHAL,  July 23: SSA, Charangpat thrashed UYAC, Uchekon 8-3 in today’s encounter at the Super Six hockey tournament at Hockey Stadium, Khuman Lampak. For the winners, H Romi bagged a tally of four goals while T Robin scored a brace, the first coming in the opening minute of play. Teammates H Mani, A Romen and B Dinamani contributed one goal each. For the losing team, Umakanta and Tiken shared the three goals.

IMPHAL, Aug 6: MPSC defeated YCCIC by 4-3 goals in the final match of Super Six State Level Hockey Tournament held at Khuman Lampak Hockey Stadium today.

The scorers of MPSC were P Adeva (three goals) and P Priyokumar (one goal). Y Jiban, Y Shyam and N Jiten scored one goal each for YCCIC.

COSMO clinched the third place after defeating SSA by 7-6 goals in tie-breaker.

IMPHAL, Aug 16: The 6th Edition of Manipur State League will begin tomorrow at Khuman Lampak Stadium.

Altogether 10 teams are taking part in the league. They are TRAU, NISA, TRUGPU, AIM, NEROCA, USA, YWC (Th), YDO, SSU and MPSC.

The opening match will be graced by YAS minister DD Thaisii, MOA president Bijoy Koijam and Kh Joykishan as the chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.

The prizes for the Manipur League are cash prize of Rs. 2 lakh and Rs. 1 lakh for the winner and runner-up respectively.

Kh Joykishan has donated Rs. 3.70 lakh for the Manipur State League.

IMPHAL, Sept 12: NISA and NEROCA were tied in 2-2 draw in today’s match of 6th Manipur State League Football Tournament held at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium. The goals of NISA were scored by L Rabi and Golmei in 40th and 63rd minute respectively while Satish and Manesh scored the goals for NEROCA in 80th and 86th minute respectively.

NISA is leading the league with 16 points followed by NEROCA with 10 points.

IMPHAL, April 27: NEROCA defeated YUC by 7-3 in today’s first match of 3rd Th Birendra football academy state level U-13 football tournament being held at Toubungkhok.
For the winners Kh Lucky scored four goals in the 11th, 17th, 36th and 43rd minute while Manilal Gurung, P David and M Mangleiba scored one goal each.
Goals for YUC were scored by Priyananda, Mangal and P Hemchandra.
In the second match, GSC defeated Linthoi FC by 4-2.
Thoungamba scored the opening goal for GSC in the 10th minute which was equalised by Bikash in the 15th minute.
The other goal for GSC were scored by Ng Kenedy (24th), Aboy (37th) and Priyokumar (47) while the second goal for Linthoi was scored by N Leingakpa in the 26th minute.
The third match of the day was played between XI Star and City Club in which the former won by a solitary goal scored by Jamesh in the 48th minute.

IMPHAL, May 4: Installation of artificial turf for football ground at Khuman Lampak is likely to begin soon.
According to a release of the AMFA, one official each of world football governing body FIFA and AIFF will be coming to the state to begin installation work.

The two officials will arrive on May 5, an AMFA release said.

The names of the officials who are to visit the state for installation of artificial football turf are Eric Gordon Harrison, FIFA official and BMR Mehta of AIFF.

IMPHAL, May 12: Brojen has entered semi final in the Mens singles open in the 1st state open CYLC tennis tournament being held at Chingamakha, Singjamei.

In the quarter final match played today Brojen defeated Jiten in strait sets, 6-0, 6-2.

In the 35 years & above doubles matches, pair of Tomba and Ranjit defeated the pair of Imoba and Rakhesh with the score of 9-4.

In other matches of the age group, Ramkumar and Laxmibanta beat Safi and Basanta by 9-3 while Ganta and Sharat beat Pritam and Romen by 9-4.

Sashanka and Tiken also beat Pradip and Iboton by 9-4 while Tuleshwor and Kangamba beat Chaoba and Lemba with the score of 9-2.

IMPHAL, May 18: Three teenage football player from Manipur have been selected to represent India in the AFC,U-13 boys festival of football to be held at Yazd city, Iran from May 17 to May 24, 2011.

An AMFA release said three U-13 boys football player who have been selected to represent India are Shahbaaz, Konjengbam Maniranjan Singh and Heisnam Sailesh Singh.

IMPHAL, May 27: Manipur will clash with defending champion Bengal in the final of the Santosh Trophy on May 30 at JN stadium, Guwahati.

In the second semi final played today at the same venue, Bengal defeated Railways by a solitary goal.

All important goal for the defending champion was scored by Subhaiya in the 38th minute.

Manipur had already booked a place in the final yesterday after defeating Services.

The two teams had earlier met in the quarter final league round for Group – A and ended in a 2-2 draw.

In the said match, Manipur was trailing by two goal but managed to level the score later in the match. When the scores were levelled at 2-2 and Manipur was dominating the match, Bengal officials complained of bad light and the match had to be stopped for about 15 minutes.

In the quarter final league round, Manipur topped group-A with seven points while Bengal was second. In group-B Railways topped with nine points while Services shared same points with Goa and Punjab but enter semi final by toss.

In the meantime, a team of the AMFA is planning to visit Guwahati to witness the final match primarily to motivate the state football team which is playing final for the second time in the history of Santosh trophy.

The winner of this year`™s Santosh trophy will richer by Rs 5 lakhs along with the trophy while runners-up team will bag Rs 3 lakhs with trophy.

Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi is likely to witness the final match which also see several officials of All India Football Federation.

IMPHAL, June 3: M Suresh Kumar of SSA wins the 100m race for junior boys (Intellectual Disabilities) at the 1st State Games for Persons with Disabilities, 2011 which is being held at Khuman Lampak under the aegis of the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Govt. of India.

The second position was bagged by M Rakesh Singh of SOWDAP while the third position was bagged by O Bhagat of BB Paul MDH.
In Softball throw competition for junior girls (ID), L Mandona and L Babina both of SSA won first and second position while L Thoibi of BBPaul bagged third position.

In the junior girls Softball throw, Angam Thoiba of SSA bagged first position while W Nanda and Y Sobilika both of BBPaul were second and third position holders.

In the senior girls Softball Throw Th Helena, L Joshita and P Duneshori , all of BB Paul stood first, second and third positions respectively.

In the Softball Throw Division group 2 Girls (ID), RK Thoibi, M Thoisana and K Abem stood first, second and third positions respectively.

In the senior Boys (ID) Softball Throw, M Mocha, RK Johnson and Ch Brajamohan, all of BB Paul bagged first three positions.

In the same competitionfor sub-junior Boys (ID), Th Bobo of BB Paul, Md Ajaman of Ch Ibohal and Ng Bushan of BB Paul were first, second and third position holders in the final.

In the Softball Throw division group 2 (ID), Md Suraj Ahmed of SOWDAP, N Gokul and Th Pinky Singh both of BB Paul were first, second and this position holders respectively.

In the Long Jump for junior Boys(Hearing Impaired), Bidyasagar, T Santa and Md Arif, all of Deaf & Mute School bagged first three positions respectively while in the senior boys category H Naobi, Th Ranjan and Md Yahiyakhan all of DMS won first, second and third positions respectively.

In the Long Jump senior Girls (HI) A Binata, Ketni Devi and L Nanaobi all of DMS won first three positions respectively while in the junior girls category Soudavei of DMS, Angom Ranisha of SSA and H Pakpi also of SSA won first, second and third positions respectively.
