Imphal, Oct 13 : Manipur Adventure and Allied Sports Institute (MAASI) today observed 27th Bravery Day at its office Complex at Keirao.
The function was graced by Shri Thokchom Meinya Singh, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) as the chief guest, Shri G. Gourakishwar Sharma, Padmashri as the guest of honour and Shri Ksh. Janma Singh, President MAASI as the president.
The Bravery Day was observed in memory of late Hidam Shyamkishore Singh, recipient of Chief Minister’s Gallantry Award (Posthumously) of Tentha Khunou, Thoubal District who died in an expedition while trying to scale Peak Gangotri III in the Himalaya (6577 metres Grewal Himalaya U.P. but now in Uttarkhand) in 1985. Shri T. Meinya praised the courage of late Shyamkishore Singh while addressing the gathering and asked the youngsters of today to have such courage.
