It was reported in a newspaper that according to the Kangleipak Calendar Board the date on which Mera Houchongba falls is shown erroneously one day late on October 30 in the Government Wall Calendar 2-012 published by DIPR instead of 29th Oct., 2012.
A similar report was also published in another paper saying that while the Durga
Ashtami/Durga Puja Bor Day and Mera Houchongba fall on 23rd and 30th October, 2012 respectively in the Govt.
Calendar published by DIPR, they fall on 22nd and 29th October, 2012 in other Calendar published by NGOs, which
causes confusion in the mind of the public.
Th. Samo Singh, Assistant Publicity Officer (Press) Information & Public Relations clarified that State Govt. holidays are decided by the Govt. through the General Administration Department and those are shown in the Govt. Wall Calendar by DIPR only as decided by the Govt.
